POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

Policies & Procedures

How we ensure safety and compliance throughout our nationwide operations.

We’ve built safety and compliance into our business model by implementing the following policies and procedures.

Chain of Responsibility (CoR)

CoR is the legislative requirement obliging us and all Australian freight operators to adhere to Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL).

We meet these requirements by implementing policies and procedures to consistently address:

  • Driver Fatigue Management
  • Speed issues
  • Overloading issues, and
  • Load restraint issues
Speeding Management

We have a speeding management policy in place to ensure that all drivers comply with relevant speed requirements. This policy extends beyond drivers to ensure that consignors and consignees, as well as rosters and deadlines, don’t place pressure on drivers to speed.

Drugs & Alcohol

Smoking and the consumption of alcohol or drugs while working is prohibited for all employees, contractors and subcontractors of Kelly Transport under our Drugs and Alcohol policy.

This policy prohibits, while working:

  • Consumption of alcohol in excess of the legislated BAC level
  • Consumption of any drugs or substances (other than as prescribed for medical purposes) which have an intoxicating effect
Operational Health & Safety (OH & S)

We have stringent OH&S policies in place to ensure safety and wellbeing throughout the company.

This policy includes:

  • Investigation of incidents
  • Site inductions
  • Identifying and minimising risks
Load Restraint

We have a Load Restraint policy in place to protect the safety of our workers and public road users.
